The D-Ticket JugendBW is aimed at all school students, all young people up to 21 years of age, as well as students, apprentices, and voluntary service providers up to 27 years of age.
It was initiated and is funded by the state of Baden-Württemberg as well as the cities and districts.
It is a personal network ticket and is valid on all means of local transport throughout Germany without time restrictions (buses, trams, underground and suburban trains, regional trains – in 2nd class). It is only available as an annual subscription . The annual price is paid in 12 monthly installments of €45.00 each. Cancellation is possible after 12 months at the earliest.
A direct debit mandate is mandatory for participation in the subscription process, so that the monthly installments can be debited.
No accompanying person rule applies.

The following applies to all pupils, trainees, students and volunteers
- The D-Ticket JugendBW is a subscription. Individual monthly tickets cannot be returned.
- To participate in the subscription process, a direct debit mandate is mandatory so that the monthly installments can be debited. Cash payment of the monthly installments is not possible.
- If cash payment is desired, it can only be made as a one-time payment in advance.
- The D-Ticket JugendBW is a digital ticket.

What is the “D-Ticket JugendBW”?
The D-Ticket JugendBW is a more affordable Deutschland-Ticket for young people in Baden-Württemberg. It is an annual subscription for public local transport for adolescents and young adults. It is financially supported by the state of Baden-Württemberg and the cities and districts in Baden-Württemberg.
Who is eligible to purchase a “D-Ticket JugendBW”?
All young people under 21 years of age with proof of age, as well as pupils, students, apprentices, and volunteers up to 27 years of age with proof of training/education.
The prerequisite is that you live in Baden-Württemberg or your school or university is in Baden-Württemberg.
Where is the D-Ticket Youth BW valid?
The D-Ticket JugendBW is a personalized network ticket and is valid on all local public transport in Germany without time restrictions (buses, trams, subways, and S-Bahn trains, regional trains – in 2nd class).
The ticket is not valid on long-distance trains (e.g., ICE, EC, IC, Flixtrain, TGV, …) and on long-distance buses.

How long is the commitment period for the D-Ticket JugendBW and how can it be canceled?
The “D-Ticket JugendBW” is an annual subscription. It runs for at least one year. Once the first year is over, you can cancel the ticket monthly. Cancellation is possible with a one-month notice period to the end of the month.
Can I also return monthly tickets with the D-Ticket JugendBW?
No, the D-Ticket JugendBW is an annual subscription. The return of individual monthly tickets is not possible here.
What accompanying regulations are there for the D-Ticket JugendBW?
No accompanying person rule applies. Bicycle transport is also not possible free of charge.
The Alternative
Those who do not wish to purchase a subscription for the D-Ticket JugendBW can purchase a monthly ticket for pupils/apprentices or another ticket under the regular VGC fare conditions. According to the current student transport cost statute of the Calw district, the following personal contributions are to be paid for an “SMK Plus”:
- Tariff level 1 € 69.50
- from Fare level 2 €75.00
The individually purchased monthly tickets are valid for specific routes and are issued according to the rules of the VGC fare regulations.
